Bill Hayes' love affair with New York began with his arrival in 2009 following the death of his partner, finding consolation in the city's sights and people over the course of late-night ambulations. He would also fall in love with the neurologist Oliver Sacks, at the beginnings of Sacks' ultimately fatal illness. The result is an intimate and exuberant portrait of Sacks, New York and the wealth of humanity Hayes encounters there.
